San Mateo County Harbor District is undergoing a dredge operation to improve the launch ramp. This maintenance will minimally impact the Pillar Point Harbor launch ramp during the 2025 Fall Salmon Opener. Your patience is appreciated while we perform this necessary maintenance work.

Ocean Salmon Fishery Information for Sacramento and Klamath Fall Chinook Salmon Fishery Disaster Declaration
The Secretary of Commerce has declared fishery disasters occurred for the 2023 and 2024 California Sacramento River Fall Chinook and Klamath River Fall Chinook fisheries. This makes these fisheries eligible for disaster assistance. The 2023 salmon disaster application administered by PSMFC opened up on March 3 and closed on June 1. Summer Harvest Guideline: 7,000 Chinook.
UPDATE – JUNE 23, 2025: THE 7,000 CHINOOK SUMMER HARVEST GUIDELINE HAS BEEN MET. Inseason action was taken to close the remaining July – August season dates.
Fall Harvest Guideline: 7,500 Chinook.
Inseason action may be taken to close remaining September – October days when the total harvest is approaching a statewide limit of 7,500 Chinook salmon
