1. Half Moon Bay High School Facilities Master Plan Workshop. Workshop Agenda, Staff Report and Facilities Master Plan.
2. Regular Meeting. “Spotlight the Coastside Way ~ Celebrating Success”: Honoring and recognizing our partners, Friends of Half Moon Bay Parks and Recreation, for their Advocacy and Support of the New Aquatic Center Feasibility Study. Agenda. Staff Report.
The Friends of Half Moon Bay Parks and Recreation, a local nonprofit, is partnering with Cabrillo Unified School District to improve aquatics facilities at Half Moon Bay High School and expand community access to aquatics. The existing pool, which has served both the school and the community for several decades, no longer meets standards for high school competition, community use, or current code requirements. On December 12, 2024, the Board approved a Feasibility Study to evaluate potential options for a new aquatic center.
The proposed aquatic center would include a 25-yard by 40-meter, 16-lane competition pool, along with a separate 2,500-square-foot warm water teaching pool designed for water fitness, safety instruction, and recreation. Support facilities would be incorporated to meet the needs of both school programs and community activities. The Feasibility Study examined two possible sites on the Half Moon Bay High School campus: the location of the existing pool and the lower student parking lot. RS+M Design/Engineering will present the proposal to the Governing Board.
There is no fiscal impact on the General or Bond funds. This is funded by Friends of Half Moon Bay Parks and Recreation.
