I took cookies with my thanks to the pharmacists and front desk checkout clerks at Pacifica Linda Mar and Fairmont Rite Aids, now both closed. I’ve known and appreciated staff and local shopping access for a long time. Now, the only Pacifica retail pharmacy is one Walgreens. It’s always been a line there and yet the pharmacists are always professional and gracious. Drive up window often closed. I hear the pharmacy is now swamped with new clients. Yes, I get mail order for routine meds but local brick and mortar is essential for more immediate needs. This is very sad and bad for business and the community. These were flagship stores and now leave big empty buildings and drives more shopping and revenue to other cities and online. What are our leaders in both cities doing about working with the landlords to fill empty storefronts with appropriate tenants?
We have so appreciated the fine care by the pharmacists at Rite Aid! They knew who we were and made us feel special. It is sad to have to say goodbye. We hope they find good employment. In a happy place. We will surely miss them.
