Class Experience
Held at our beautiful San Mateo County Educational Farm in El Granada, this 10-week program fosters environmental literacy, wellness, and a deeper sense of belonging in nature for kids.

For the past 20 years, our award-winning Intensive Garden Program (IGP) – more affectionately known as “HEAL Class!” – has brought science to life through outdoor learning at school gardens. Now, for the first time, we’re expanding beyond school campuses to offer HEAL Class at the Farm, an immersive seasonal garden education experience open to all students.

Held at the beautiful San Mateo County Educational Farm in El Granada, this 10-week program offering Spring and Fall sessions fosters environmental literacy, wellness, and a deeper sense of belonging in nature.

Schedule: Tuesdays 2:30 – 4:00 pm (see dates below).
Fall 2025: Tuesdays, Aug 19th, 2025 – Oct 21st, 2025
Spring 2026: Tuesdays, Feb 24th, 2026 – May 5th, 2026
Cost: $35/class for 10-class sessions = $350.:
Location: 300 Bridgeport Dr, El Granada, CA 94018


Notes
Cost includes instruction, materials, and snacks. Class size is limited to 15 students, with a minimum of 7 to run the session. A full refund will be issued if the session is canceled due to low enrollment by 8/15/25.
Cancel by 8/15/25 with a $40 cancellation fee. No refunds after 8/15/25, except in the event of a family emergency or active COVID-19 diagnosis.

  • How all organisms are interconnected through food and ecosystem cycles
  • Plant anatomy and what plants need to survive
  • Garden care and stewardship—planning, planting, and nurturing crops
  • The value of eating a rainbow and preparing healthy snacks
  • The beauty and resilience of Rammaytush Ohlone culture and traditions

Sample Class Format

  • Weekly 90-minute classes led by trained Garden Educators
  • Hands-on activities: planting, harvesting, composting, cooking, science & art
  • Curriculum aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
  • Focus on wellness, environmental awareness, and food systems literacy
  • Small group setting for personalized instruction and peer connection
