PRESS RELEASE. From Stein for Congress on May 21st, 2026.

Silicon Valley and Half Moon Bay, CA. 21 May 2026 – Independent Congressional candidate Jotham Stein has been crisscrossing the 16th Congressional District to meet as many voters as possible in the last weeks before the June 2nd Primary. He’s met with voters at Farmers Markets from Pacifica in the north of the district to Willow Glenn, San Jose, in the south, including hours spent talking with voters at the Portola Valley, Los Altos, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Campbell and Saratoga Farmers Markets. Last weekend, Jotham spent hours at Campbell’s Boogiefest.

Today, Jotham will visit the Portola Valley and Los Altos Farmers Markets and this weekend, he’ll return
for at least the seventh time to the Saratoga Farmers Market on Saturday and at least the fifth time to the Palo Alto, California Avenue, Farmers Market on Sunday. Jotham will not campaign on Memorial Day, out of respect for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

“Are you worried about America’s direction?” Stein asks voters he meets. So many, Democrats,
Republicans, Independents tell Jotham they are very upset with what’s going on in our country.
Stein tells them, “Let’s work together to change America’s trajectory. But let’s also recognize that
we are part of the problem. Repeatedly, we vote for the same two billionaire-financed parties and
their I’ll-do-anything-to-get-elected-including-refusing-to-attend-debates candidates. On June 2,
I’m offering you an opportunity to change that!”

“Let’s end gerrymandering nationwide, enact term limits for Congress, reign in special interest
groups and pass campaign finance reform and fix things that need fixing like Social Security, our
ballooning national debt, health care and inflation,” Stein urges. “As an example, I’m the only
candidate with a detailed plan to fix Social Security, one that will keep Social Security solvent for
more than 75 years,” Stein says. “But, as an Independent,” Stein continues, “I don’t have to defer
to any party and I’m not locked in to any party position, so if you’ve got a better plan to fix Social
Security, I’ll modify my plan, or adopt your plan as long as we fix Social Security. I’ll work to do
my best to bridge the partisan divide hurting our country and look out for all of us.”

Not everyone agrees with everything the Independent says, but that’s OK for Stein. “Democracies
depend on reasonable compromise,” he says. “The two parties have been making a mess of our
country, constantly fighting with each other, gerrymandering our nation, manipulating the vote so
only they can win. Gerrymandering is just plain wrong. As an Independent I’ll work with everyone
to look out for all of us, and yes, reasonably compromise because a healthy America requires no
less.”
