Half Moon Bay Public Works to Begin Repairing Poplar Beach Coastal Trail Tomorrow; Finish in 10 Days

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

PRESS RELEASE. From the City of Half Moon Bay on October 23rd, 2025.

Beginning Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the City’s Public Works Department will begin repairing sections of the Coastal Trail north and west of the Poplar Beach Parking Lot.

These repairs will address large cracks that have formed in the trail and will improve trail safety and usability. Work will occur in two areas, one at a time, to minimize community impacts.

Temporary detours will be in place during construction. Please note that detour areas will not be paved so plan accordingly. Bicyclists might need to walk their bikes.

Please use caution and be aware of construction materials, equipment, and workers while in the area.

The project is expected to take about 10 days, though crews hope to finish it sooner, so the coastal trail can be returned to its normal configuration.

We appreciate your patience as we make these important improvements to enhance the Coastal Trail for all users.

If you have questions or concerns, you may contact the City’s Public Works Department, at publicworks@halfmoonbay.gov.
