Don’t miss our monthly book sale! We have a great inventory of all types of books, most priced at $3 and below and including many wonderful monthly specials. Bring your kids; we have free children’s picture books—while they last. Our sales help fund library programs. Thanks for your support. We make it easy for you to pay by accepting credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Venmo as well as cash or checks.

INSIDE THE HALF MOON BAY LIBRARY!

Loads of new donations at our monthly book sale.  Fiction, non-fiction, science fiction, rare, collectible, special, coffee table, art, cookbooks, biographies, mysteries, children’s books, YA books, new releases, foreign language books and more.

Regular books priced from $1-$3.

Teachers – choose up to 10 free books (kids, young adult, regular priced fiction and non-fiction.)  (Does not include specially priced books.)

Bring your children; they can choose free children’s picture books.

GUIDELINES FOR BOOK DONATIONS:

• Books should be clean and in good condition

• Books should be boxed (banker’s box size, 10x12x15, is ideal) or in a strong plastic or cloth bag

• No more than two boxes or bags at a time, please

TYPES OF BOOKS    

• Fiction should be less than 15 years old unless the book is a classic or collectible

• Nonfiction of all kinds—cookbooks, gardening, and crafting books are especially welcome

• YA (young adult) books should be less than 15 years old

• Children’s and kids’ books, including those in Spanish​​

WE ESPECIALLY WELCOME (in good condition)

• Antique or first-edition books

• Boxed sets or the complete works of a single author

• Art or coffee table books

• Books that are unique or collectible

PLEASE DO NOT BRING

• Books that are musty or smell badly (give them a sniff!)

• Books that are yellowed, torn, moldy, or water-stained

• Periodicals or magazines

• Encyclopedias, textbooks, workbooks, reference books, or technical manuals

• Audio or VHS cassettes, CDs, or DVDs (including audiobooks)

As we have limited storage space for books at the library, there may be times during the year when we cannot accept book donations. Check this page for status before you bring donations to us.
