PRESS RELEASE. From Caltrans on June 11th, 2026. ROW = Right of way. To learn more about the project, including frequently asked questions, please visit the project website. Thank you for your patience as we work to mitigate wildfire risk on state property.
Caltrans has begun fuel reduction work to mitigate wildfire risk along a Caltrans-owned parcel known as the “Devil’s Slide Bypass” or the “Martini Creek Bypass” area in Montara and Moss Beach.
Crews are removing vegetation, including trees, bark, limbs and other debris, to create defensible space between private property lines and state Right-of-Way, as recommended by CAL FIRE.
All work will take place on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Neighbors should expect daytime noise from equipment such as wood chippers and excavators.
Work is scheduled to be completed by July 15, 2026.
