Half Moon Bay, California 94019
Coastside Farmers’ Market in Half Moon Bay is Senator Josh Becker’s next stop on his Farmers’ Market Tour!
On Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 Senator Becker and his staff will visit the farmers market to connect with Coastside residents to discuss the work he is doing on our behalf, and some of the policies he is promoting during the budget process currently underway in Sacramento.
California’s proposed 2026-27 budget threatens to end the Market Match program, a critical lifeline for food-insecure families, California farmers, and food producers which is funded through the California Nutrition Incentive Program (CNIP).
Market Match has its origin story in Half Moon Bay, which along with CoastsIde Farmers’ Markets in Pacifica and Pescadero, was one of the six initial pilot sites for this now statewide program that improves food access for low-income families while directly bolstering the bottom line for our local farms, ranches, fishery and small-scale food makers. The program doubles shoppers’ CalFresh EBT benefits for fresh fruits and vegetables, and is now available at 300 farmers markets, CSAs, and farmstands from as far north as Alturas, and as far south as San Diego.
Senator Becker is the champion for the budget request that will restore CNIP funding to the budget, ensuring the durable future of Market Match, along several other programs that improve access to locally grown fresh fruits, veggies and culturally desirable foods to Seniors, veterans, and families throughout the state.
The Senator and his staff ar looking forward to meeting with you to discuss this and other issues of interest to residents of the Coastside on Saturday May 2nd, 2026 from 9:00-1:00pm at Shoreline Station.
