VIDEO. From the San Mateo County Harbor District Special Meeting on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025 at 10:00am to 2:00pm, as a hybrid meeting. Public comment only in person or by email. Meetings are currently being held in person at the SMCHD Administration Building, 504 Avenue Alhambra, Ste. 200, El Granada. Agenda.
First Strategic Plan Workshop was held Thursday, November 21st, 2024 from 9:00am to 3:30pm at the Oceano Hotel as an in-person meeting with directors and staff and public.
Last Strategic Plan was in 2020; Final document.
Last Master Plan was finalized in March 2022 after 3 workshops.
A master plan focuses on the physical development of a specific area, like a campus or city, guiding its future layout and infrastructure over a long period. A strategic plan, on the other hand, outlines long-term goals and strategies for an organization as a whole, encompassing various aspects like finance, operations, and market positioning. Essentially, a master plan answers the “where” and “how” of physical development, while a strategic plan addresses the “why” and “what” of the organization’s overall direction.
In essence, a master plan provides the “road map” for physical development, while a strategic plan provides the “overall vision and direction” for an organization. They are often used together, with the master plan supporting the implementation of the strategic plan’s goals.”
