September 2024

  • The San Mateo County Public Works Emergency Repair permit was approved by the California Coastal Commission on September 13, 2024
  • Construction is anticipated to begin on September 30, 2024, with an expected completion date in early December 2024. Construction will occur Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM. There is a potential for weekend work, if needed. Construction days and hours are subject to change.
  • Please be advised that there will be traffic interruptions.  Expect delays and wait times if driving on Mirada Road.  Mirada Road may have intermittent road closures during business hours; however, the Road is expected to reopen to vehicular traffic at the end of each workday.
  • Residents along Mirada Road will continue to have access to their homes; however, access may be limited during construction hours.
  • Pedestrians and recreational users should note that during construction there will be limited access on Mirada Road. Beach access will also be limited during certain construction activities, including restricted access on the beach during revetment work.
  • Be advised that there will be noise disturbances.
  • A virtual community meeting with Department of Public Works (DPW) is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 6:30pm-7:30pm.  This meeting will provide information about the upcoming emergency repair work and offer an opportunity for questions.
