SUBJECT: Draft Request for Proposals for Restaurant/Retail Vacant Spaces
Recommendation/Motion
Review and comment on draft Restaurant and Bar, Retail/Café, and Café and Optional Seafood Market Request for Proposals (RFP). Provide direction to staff regarding proposed changes to draft.
Policy Implications
An RFP is issued to ensure fair market value and promote transparency in the process.
Fiscal Implications/Budget Status
The District owns a commercial building known as “tenant row”. The previous tenant has vacated the space and the District wishes to fill the space as quickly as possible. It is estimated that the District is “losing” approximately $20,500 per month for each month that the space remains vacant.
Background
The District wishes to issue three RFPs for the vacant space at tenant row. Staff created a template with input from the Finance Committee. Three attached draft RFP’s were created using the template. District legal counsel and a restaurant consultant have reviewed the RFPs and updates have been incorporated as appropriate.
