VIDEO. From the Sewer Authority Mid-Coastside (SAM) Director’s meeting on Monday, April 11th, 2022. Mayor of Half Moon Bay and SAM Chair, Debbie Ruddock, introduces the Agenda Item and SAM General Manager, Kishen Prathivadi to present the need to purchase a Chopper Pumps.
From the Agenda
“The chopper pump will cut and chop hair, rags, plastics and miscellaneous other material. The continuous chopping and cutting of the solids will not only protect the pump from clogging, but also provides added benefit to downstream components, processes, and the environment by keeping the operation clean. Chopping is accomplished by the scissor action of the leading edges of the impeller vanes cutting against the opposing edges of the cutter bar. All solids are chopped as they enter between the cutter bar and the impeller vanes. The smaller solids are easily pumped by the centrifugal action of the impeller. SAM reached out to the present manufacturer of the existing Chopper Pump to get the advantage of the same spare parts and ease of replacement. Attached is the proposal received from Rockwell Solutions.”
