David Chamberlin from Sharp Park on Nextdoor documenting the pier’s damage.

“Thank you so much Sam Liccardo (Congressman), Josh Becker (Senator), Marc Berman (Assemblyman) and Ray Mueller (D3 Supervisor) for joining us today for a press conference about the pier.

Ginger Davis from the Chit Chat, and fishing community representatives Lisa Hemsyalk and Bae Cadotte, and I all had the opportunity to speak, as well as our City Manager, Sean Charpentier, and Deputy Director of Public Works, Roland Yip.

Pacifica truly is the canary in the coal mine for climate change and the impacts of a warming ocean. I’m more hopeful after this event today that we can work together to find the funding we need for our critical coastal projects to protect our infrastructure, homes and beaches.”
