Coastside Carousel is a show devoted to spotlighting the groups and artists that make up our local musical entertainment community.
Michael Krechevsky – known commonly as Michael K grew up in a very musical family, with his Mom and sisters taking private lessons with Dr. Wagner of University of Southern California. He grew up knowing that it wasn’t a case of if he were going to play an instrument, it was what instrument was it going to be. So, at age 8, he chose the clarinet for its rich fluid tone (at least when his teacher played). He continued to play in band, orchestra, and competitive solo recitals until graduation from high school. In the last couple years of high school he also doubled on the tenor saxophone and taught himself to play piano.
Fast forward 20 years and he started playing saxophone again. Over the next 25 years he helped form or worked as a side man in a number of bands including: Blue Cowboy, Thunder Gray, Catie Chase and the Getaways, and The Dalton Band, along with guest gigs with Blame It On The Dog, and The Michael Ahern Band. Additionally he’s done a number of solo gigs here on the Coast.
He is looking forward to getting behind the mic at KHMB to help bring a focus to the many talented performers we have here on the Coast. Having lived here for over 30 years, He has seen a rich musical scene continue to grow and evolve. Please join him in welcoming old friends and new talent here at KHMB and CoastsiderRadio.com..
