ARTICLE. From Anne-Marie Despain, Director of Library Services for San Mateo County Libraries via Friends of the Library Half Moon Bay. The Friends of the Library is the primary fundraising organization that supports library programs for adults, teens, and children of all ages and backgrounds in our community. “Annie Malley has formally announced her retirement date of October 25. As you all know, Annie was instrumental in building broad community support for the new Half Moon Bay Library. Her tireless advocacy and ability to rally and inform the community were critical to the success of the project. Thanks to her leadership, the new library opened in 2018 and reflects the needs and dreams of the people it serves.
Under Annie’s guidance, the library has become a place where something special is always happening, innovative programs, meaningful volunteer opportunities, and a deeply engaged team that reflects the community it serves.Â
Annie has built a wonderful team and made many valuable contributions to the City and San Mateo County Libraries during her 20 years. She will be greatly missed. We are excited to celebrate her accomplishments and wish her well in her next adventure!
