San Mateo County Harbor District’s “Pillar Point Surfers Beach – Safe Parking Project” webpage
The Pillar Point Surfers Beach Safe Parking Project is exploring options for creating a new parking lot and greenspace area to serve users of Pillar Point Harbor and launch ramp, local restaurants, businesses and public beaches, including Surfers Beach.
The project evaluated two potential off-highway parking sites with a focus on safety, neighborhood compatibility, and protection of the scenic coastal environment. The Harbor District Board selected the site adjacent to the Pillar Point Boat Launch at its November 19, 2025 meeting.
