This show is a must see! The cast has serious chemistry and talent. You get drawn into the story right away and, before you know it, you are almost one with Orpheus and Eurydice for the rest of the show.

Welcome to Hadestown!
It’s truly a joy to be here for my first production with Half Moon Bay High School’s theatre program. From the very beginning, I’ve felt incredibly welcomed by the students, staff, and community, and I’m grateful for the opportunity not only to direct this show but to help continue building and strengthening this vibrant theater program.
Hadestown has long been one of my favorite musicals. Its brilliant composition, poetic
storytelling, and timeless themes of tragic love, hope, and resilience make it a deeply
special piece. Bringing this story to life with this group of students has been both an honor and a privilege.
I’ve spent over a decade working as an actor and director throughout the Bay Area. I’ve had the pleasure of helping run the Pacifica Spindrift Players, working with Coastal Repertory Theatre as well as teaching and serving on the leadership team at Spindrift School of Performing Arts.
I am incredibly proud of this team. Their commitment to each other, their willingness to
take creative risks, and the care they’ve put into telling this story have made this process
unforgettable. This show belongs to them–their voices, their hard work, and their passion shine through in every moment you’ll see on stage.
Thank you for supporting live theater and for being here to celebrate these students and
their achievements. I hope you enjoy the journey to Hadestown as much as we have.
— Gary Schoenfeld (Director)
