“I recently joined ALAS CEO Belinda Arriaga in downtown Half Moon Bay for a visit to an extraordinary new mural.
Artist Rafael Blanco created the Coastside’s first Latino-centered cultural arts mural. It honors generations of community members—from farmworkers harvesting Brussels sprouts and folklórico dancers celebrating culture and joy, to elders whose stories and wisdom guide future generations.
ALAS’s extraordinary work shines as impressively as the mural. The organization serves thousands of Coastside residents through mental health care, youth and senior programs, farmworker outreach, arts education, and research partnerships with Stanford.
