Construction activities will require the use of heavy equipment and crews will implement temporary traffic control measures.
Driveway Access
Residents on Frontage Road will not be able to access their driveways on Monday, June 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents may contact Roberto Rodriguez at (510) 359-3994 with questions concerning driveway access. Driveways will be accessible after 5 p.m. as well as on Tuesday, June 16.
Parking Information
To facilitate paving operations and ensure the safety of residents, motorists, and construction personnel, parking will be prohibited along Frontage Road within the designated construction limits during work hours on both June 15 and 16. Temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted in advance of construction activities. Vehicles parked within the work zone may impede construction operations and create unsafe conditions. Residents and visitors are encouraged to relocate their vehicles prior to the start of work each day and use alternate parking locations outside the construction zone. Any vehicles remaining in posted no-parking areas during scheduled work hours will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
Detour Information
Residents not on Frontage Rd will enter and exit the neighborhood through Kehoe Ave during work hours.
Caltrans thanks residents, motorists, and all users of the roadway for their patience and understanding while we perform this important paving work which will deliver a smoother and safer roadway for the entire community.
Known as the SR-1 Multi-Asset Roadway Rehabilitation Project, the $46.7M project encompasses upgrading assets (such as pavement, guardrails, curbs, and crosswalks) that are nearing the end their service lives. Assets will be brought up to ADA standards, and Class II bike lanes will be added to both the north- and south-bound sides of the roadway. The project will continue through the summer of 2027.
