PRESS RELEASE. From the Boy and Girls Club of the Coastside (BGCC)
With deepest gratitude and respect, the Board of Directors for the Boy and Girls Club of the Coastside (BGCC) announces that Executive Director Jill Jacobson will be stepping away from her current position this spring. The Board proudly recognizes all that Jill has done for the BGCC and the Coastside community over the last six years as a collaborative leader.
The Board is especially grateful to Jill for her leadership:
- Locating a permanent home for the Club in the center of town.
- Strengthening the financial position of the organization through strong partnerships with donors, foundations, and community partners.
- Crafting and implementing an actionable Strategic Plan.
- Adopting the Cunha afterschool sports program into BGCC and shaping it into a thriving offering for hundreds of youth.
- Modeling trauma-informed support for youth during and after the pandemic.
And there is great reason for excitement about the future. Jill will continue to be involved with BGCC, moving into a new position as a Strategic Advisor. As Jill said, “BGCC will always have a special place in my heart.”
By giving notice now, Jill will help plan the transition with the Board, staff, and the new Executive Director, allowing the Club a smooth and effective change in leadership. Jill will also continue to provide guidance and support during a phased transition to the next Executive Director.
Today we begin our search for a new full-time Executive Director.
The position announcement follows and can be found on the BGCC website.
At the Boys and Girls Club, we are about hope and opportunity. The Club is the place to go for after-school programs, sports, and camps. It’s a place to learn and grow through educational guidance and academic support. We provide life-enhancing programs and character development experiences in a safe, comfortable space with social-emotional wellness support and caring adult mentors.
The next Executive Director will be integral to fundraising, growing our programs, and continuing to build a skilled team dedicated to serving Coastside youth. BGCC is seeking a highly skilled leader dedicated to youth on the Coastside.
