E-News. From the City of Half Moon Bay on July 2nd, 2025.

The City of Half Moon Bay is currently accepting Willing to Serve forms from community members interested in serving on the Planning Commission. This is a wonderful opportunity to help shape the future of our City and support thoughtful planning and development decisions.

There is currently one vacancy for a term that runs through the end of 2026. Planning Commissioners provide valuable input and guidance to City staff and the City Council, playing an essential role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of life in Half Moon Bay.

The Planning Commission consists of five members and meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m.

If you’re interested in applying, please submit your Willing to Serve form by August 4, 2025. Willing to Serve forms are available at City Hall at 501 Main Street, on the City’s website, or can be mailed or emailed to you upon request.

The Planning Commission consists of citizen volunteers appointed by the City Council to make decisions or advise the Council on land use and property development issues. The Commission assures that new development is consistent with our Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, long-range General Plan and Local Coastal Plan, State laws and other public policies that advance the interests of our community.
