ENEWS. From the City of Half Moon Bay on October 17th, 2024.

The Half Moon Bay City Council wants to include youth perspectives on the Parks and Recreation Commission, which will benefit the entire community. To gain this perspective, the Council recently added two seats to the Commission for youth representatives, and our community’s young people are encouraged to apply to serve.

Interested persons are asked to submit a Willing to Serve form. Applicants must be residents of the City of Half Moon Bay, in grades 9-12, and at least 14 years of age. The Parks and Recreation Commission is a seven-member, unpaid advisory committee that typically meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm.

The deadline to submit the Willing to Serve form is 5 pm, Friday, November 8th, 2024.

Willing to Serve Forms are available at Half Moon Bay City Hall, 501 Main Street, and on the City’s website. Applications are due by Friday, November 8, 2024. For specific requirements and additional information, please contact City Clerk Jessica Blair at (650) 726-8271.

This is a great opportunity to bring fresh, youthful viewpoints to the Commission, and youth members will gain practical leadership skills while learning about the value of civic engagement.
