MESSAGE. From Larry de Young, RAMMB (Red Alert Montara and Moss Beach) coordinator (on Nextdoor), communicating with GGNRA Superintendent, David Smith.

“The Rancho Corral de Tierra is being closed due to the government shutdown. This is not a rumor. This is directly from GGNRA Superintendent David Smith. In an email to me, he also said the following: “Although rangers are prohibited from being proactive during a shutdown, they can react to illegal activities that are called in from citizens. If you or anyone else in the equestrian community sees illegal activity:

  • out-of-bounds camping
  • illegal fires
  • motorcycle use on trails

Please call it into dispatch at 415-561-5505. ”

I suggest that everyone who visits the park add that number to their contacts under ‘National Park Service Rangers’.”
