Video / Podcast. Watch or listen to the HMB City Council exploration of the Fiscal Analysis and Consideration of Ballot Measures for Potential Commercial Cannabis Businesses.
At this meeting, the City Council listened to a consultant’s report on the potential revenues and other fiscal issues related to taxation options for possible commercial cannabis businesses in Half Moon Bay. Potential revenues under a number of different scenarios/assumptions will be discussed. Fascinating.
The City Council will also discuss and provide direction on preparation of a tax measure for its subsequent approval, which would then be placed on the November ballot, as well as the other measures related to other commercial cannabis business activity.
This is a follow up to the June 5 Council meeting at which staff was directed to return to Council with draft elections resolutions that would:
- Place the draft Cannabis Nursery Ordinance on the November 6, 2018 ballot for voters to decide whether it should be adopted
- Place advisory measures on the November 6, 2018 ballot for voter input regarding other commercial cannabis activities of: 1. full cultivation, 2. retail sales and 3. manufacturing
- Place a Commercial Cannabis Tax measure on the November 6, 2018 ballot
