Birgitta Bower Public Comment from the 7/15/26 Harbor Board Meeting
It appears this Board has a problem telling information from misinformation, facts from gossip.
In October I sent the general manager and the Board a complaint regarding the Pillar Point RV
Park. It concerned the lack of signage for public parking, the blatant disregard to any regulation
on length of stays etc. I cited the CDP, I had screen shots of the RV Park website, I had photos,
I had a video. I had 9 other people read it and put their names under it. These were proven facts.
At the October 27th meeting it was called misinformation and Commissioner Chang Kiraly said
“absolute propaganda”. The general manager kept denying the facts until even he couldn’t.
The general manager Pruett wrote me a defamatory letter in March based on “misinformation”. It
was a lie.
I watched the July 7th, 2026 harbor finance meeting where Coastside Buzz’ Michelle Dragony was attacked over gossip. Commissioner Chang-Kiraly alleged that “some people”, not named, not a “majority”, but “some people” had told her they felt that Coastside Buzz was biased. Oh no, there
was no concrete evidence or anything, but they felt this and so what did Michelle have to say about that? This is gossip.
Michelle was left trying to defend herself from something unspecified but somehow very concerning.
Kafka would have appreciated it.
Commissioner Chang Kiraly told Michelle she needed to polish the apple more. That is not the original idiom and a thing that you actually can’t polish.
If the Harbor wants to improve its image: restore the parking for Surfers Beach and donate the
Bumham Strip parcels to the GCSD.
