Hwy 1 Nighttime Lane Closures at Devil’s Slide Tunnels Mon. July 6th, through Thur. July 9th, 2026

Motorists traveling on Highway 1 should plan ahead for overnight lane closures at the Devil’s Slide Tunnels from Monday, July 6, through Thursday, July 9, 2026, between 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. each night.

Caltrans will be conducting its annual mandatory tunnel safety inspections during these hours. Traffic will be directed through a single tunnel under one-way traffic control, and drivers should expect brief delays. Crews will implement lane closures and one-way traffic control each night.

The work is weather dependent. If possible, travelers are encouraged to allow extra time or adjust their travel plans during the overnight inspection period.
