The City of Half Moon Bay invites residents to celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 by hosting a neighborhood block party or community gathering.

National Night Out is a nationwide event that brings neighbors together to build safer, stronger, and more connected communities. Residents are encouraged to host gatherings between 5 and 9 p.m. and enjoy an evening of food, fun, and connection with neighbors.

Residents can now apply for a gift card to help support their National Night Out event. Applications are open now through July 10th, 2026.

To apply:

• Fill out the online application form
• Share a few details about your neighborhood gathering
• Submit your application by July 10th, 2026

Participating events may also receive promotion through our social media channels, with possible visits from a fire truck or Sheriff’s vehicle based on availability.

National Night Out is a wonderful opportunity for Half Moon Bay residents to get together, meet new people, re-connect with neighbors, and just spend a couple of relaxing hours in an informal social setting.

Getting to know and staying in touch with neighbors enhances neighborhood safety and well-being, and makes it easier for neighbors to look out for each other – and that’s great for our entire community.

Depending on the number of block parties and staff availability, the City will try to schedule a visit by a fire truck or Sheriff’s vehicle.

Most neighbors hold their National Night Out events between 5 and 9 pm.
