Half Moon Bay, California 94019
World-class chefs creating one incredible meal, supporting outdoor education for thousands of students.
The HEAL Project invites you to their Spring Ahead annual gala, taking place at the beloved coastside institution Sam’s Chowder House on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 6:00 pm. The doors will open at 5:30 pm for an evening of delicious sips and bites in support of the county-wide environmental education program.
After holding this event at Pasta Moon|845 for the past several years, the Spring Ahead team is excited to switch things up at the popular waterfront venue where guests will enjoy a showcase of local culinary talent and ingredients.
Renowned chefs from San Mateo County, including:
- Event host Lewis Rossman of Sam’s Chowder House
- Kim Levin of Pasta Moon|845
- Javier Arrebolo Serrano of The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay
- Jose Luis Ugalde from Gibraltar Gems
- Roberto Rodriguez from Mullins Steakhouse
- Joy Portelli of Event Savvy
They will craft a delicious array of tasty offerings sourced from Coastside producers. Each dish will highlight ingredients from Coastside farms, ranches, and fisheries, including produce from The HEAL Project’s San Mateo County School Farm.
The event will feature a specialty cocktail from Jetty Wave Distillery, local beer from The Half Moon Bay Brewing Co., wine from Half Moon Bay Winery, live music from Mike McCall and an interactive exhibit highlighting The HEAL Project experiential education programs. Guests can also participate in a curated Online Auction from March 16th to 26th, as well as a Silent Auction that includes one-of-kind local art pieces at the event.
Once again this year, radio personality Marcus D. from the “Marcus in the Morning” show on Star 101.3/iHeart Radio will serve as the evening’s host.
The HEAL Project teaches students – and their families – where their food comes from and why it matters through hands-on farm and garden-based education in school garden classrooms and at the San Mateo County School Farm. The funds raised at Spring Ahead 2026 support the continued growth and resilience of these programs that reach thousands of students and their families every year. The HEAL Project has grown to serve 6500 students at more than 60 San Mateo County schools in the current 2025-2026 school year.
