Tokyo Godfathers at 5pm – Rated PG 13
Die Hard at 7pm – Rated R
Join us for two highly acclaimed films that take place during the holidays.
In Tokyo Godfathers (2003), a Japanese anime feature film, three homeless people living on the streets of Tokyo discover a newborn baby among the trash and set out to find its parents.
Die Hard (1988) is considered one of the greatest action films of all time, largely due to its depiction of NYPD John McClane (Bruce Willis) as a vulnerable and fallible protagonist.
Tokyo Godfathers
On Christmas Eve, three homeless people living on the streets of Tokyo—a middle-aged alcoholic, a transgender woman, and a teenage runaway—discover an abandoned among the trash and set out to find its parents. Along the way, encounters with seemingly unrelated events and people force them to confront their own haunted pasts, as they learn to face their future, together. Based on the story of a 1948 John Ford Western.
Die Hard
New York City policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) is visiting his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia) on Christmas Eve. He joins her at a holiday party in the headquarters of the Japanese-owned business she works for. But the festivities are interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it. Very soon McClane realizes that there’s no one to save the hostages – but him.
