It is the 2024 Candidate Forum season on the Coast. Last week there was a Cabrillo Unified School District forum (trying to pass a bond and parcel tax) There was also a Half Moon Bay City Council forum.
I don’t forget the PMAC forum that was held a couple week ago. Also check out the Pescadero Candidate Forum 2024 website. Be prepared to vote!

There was a homeless or unhoused fire at the Pilarcitos Creek Trail encampment which was extinguished in 10 minutes. When will the City of Half Moon Bay make this trail safe for public access again?

Speaking of which..as San Mateo County rolls out “Hopeful Horizons” and as Half Moon Bay’s unhoused numbers increase, the Council has agendized the issue in order to look into aligning with county plans. The homeless population continues to increase on the Coast.

The Midcoast Community Council received new budget rules from Supervisor Mueller in order to align with the San Mateo County Controller’s Best Practices this is template for PMAC.

There was a Half Moon Bay Town Hall with the San Mateo County Sheriffs and they covered Public Safety, Crime Stats, Trends, Safety Tips and now offer a Transparency Portal whose link is in the post. This applies to the south coast too.

Supervisor Mueller brought a resolution to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors in order to join other counties asking the State Insurance Commissioner to issue emergency rules to stabilize home and business property insurance. Cross our fingers.

Union employees beg San Mateo County to invest in employees that are exhausted by personal sacrifices due to difficulties in hiring and retaining employees. South coast but it is an economic indicator. The Courts have reduced funding and therefore reduced hours and services.

San Mateo County Parks hosted its first annual family friendly FallFest with plans to bring in electrical to Quarry Park to support and enhance future events. Once Pescadero has their Plaza San Mateo County Parks will throw you guys a party too!

Loma Mar Store is now a non-profit called the Loma Mar outpost. Stay tuned for the latest as the develop their ideas.

  • There is a City of HMB and Coastside Hope sponsored Immigration Workshop ~ “Policy Updates & Know Your Rights”  Saturday, October 26th, 2024, 10:30 am-2:00 pm.
