What is Measure K?

Measure K is a San Mateo Countywide half-cent sales tax extension passed by local voters in November 2016 to support essential County services and to maintain or replace critical facilities, providing local funds for local needs.

From 10/3/2023 Agenda

“Supervisor Mueller, District 3, indicates that this organization is either a public agency operating within the County or a nonprofit organization registered and in good standing with the California Attorney General.

This is a request to authorize a grant to the City of Half Moon Bay, and resulting grant agreement, in an amount not to exceed $20,000, to provide news related to Half Moon Bay and the Coastside region, and resources, through the Coastside News Group, Inc. to County residents. The County Executive’s Office will administer and manage the proposed agreement.”

  1. Yes, The Half Moon Bay Review is an historic entity that needs to be preserved ! The county support is also community support as evidenced in the tax renewal vote. I am a loyal and satisfied subscriber to the Half Moon Bay Review and encourage everyone in the area to subscribe. Businesses, in order to reap a prosperous benefit , advertise to the paper that is working and seeking every innovative avenue possible to represent and support the community it loves.
