PRESS RELEASE. The Coastside County Water District (CCWD) uses a Board Member election system based on five zones and has established zone boundaries and sequencing of elections. You may vote only for the candidates running within your zone. To determine where your property is within the established zones, see the maps below.

 

How to File and Run in San Mateo County

Candidates must file between July 18th and August 12nd, 2022 (all the relevant dates can be found here: https://www.smcacre.org/elections/november-8-2022-election-calendar).

 

Basic info for candidates is here (for all San Mateo County elections): https://www.smcacre.org/elections/basic-campaign-filing-guidelines-candidates, and the folks in the Elections office are very happy to work with candidates in person or on the phone.

Election Procedures for Board Members

The Coastside County Water District is governed by a five-person Board of Directors.
Candidates for a board member position must reside in and be registered to vote in the Coastside County Water District at the time that nomimation papers are issued to the candidate or at the time of the candidate’s appointment.
The term of each Board member (other than a member appointed to fill a vacancy) is four years.
The general election for the Coastside County Water District is held in November of each even-numbered year.

Regular meetings of the CCWD Board of Directors are held once each month on the second Tuesday. Regular meetings commence at 7:00 p.m. and are held in the District Office located at 766 Main Street, Half Moon Bay.

The date, time and place of a regular meeting may be changed by the Board of Directors in specific cases by a motion duly passed at a meeting duly called and held. Public notice shall be posted of any such change in the date, time or place of a regular meeting.
