Connect the Coastside: An MCC Study Session with the Community 7/29/2020

July 29, 2020 – 7pm – A Midcoast Community Council Virtual Meeting

Goal:

The Study Session will record the community observations, questions, and ideas generated by community members review of Connect the Coastside.

Simple Rules:

3 minutes maximum enforced / Be concise / Add to a topic, just say you agree rather than repeating earlier comments

What will make traffic better?

MCC Role:

Council members may ask a clarifying question but not comment on what is presented. A council member will maintain a viewable summary list of comments. Any council member may speak as a member of the community.

Output:

The minutes of this meeting will be posted for review on Monday August 3 and submitted to the San Mateo County Planning Department on August 5. Minutes will include the meeting Chat Record and the online summary phrase for each comment.

Traffic and Residential Development

• Cumulative traffic impacts of residential development at LCP Buildout

• Traffic Observations

• Traffic Models, Measurements and Simulations

SR1 in Bookend Intersections in Moss Beach (Cypress & California (or another intersection at the North end of SR1) Future Alternatives:

• Current – Two Way Stop Control (TWSC)

• Control Alternative 1: Signals

• Control Alternative 2: One Lane Roundabouts

MCC Prepares For 7/29 Connect the Coastside Meeting Where We Can All See and Hear Each Other

VIDEO. At last night’s 7/22/2020 MidCoast Community Council meeting the MCC prepares questions and Zoom meeting format for next weeks Wed.  7/29/2020 at 7:00pm.

NEXT STEP 7/29/2020 MCC special study session

Len is talking to Jill Ekas, the Community Development Director of Half Moon Bay, to match LCPs, to be in coordination.

New Department of Public Works Manager of Roadways is commencing on a new review of county roads.

The 7/29/2020 meeting emphasis will be on the Moss Beach Corridor.

@ 53:31:  MCC’s Dave Olsen explains the LOS to Delay index method. Delay index is based on congestion travel time and can be directly measured for travel time. It also  determine affects of development and population.

Do you know that the CTC Delay Index is 2 for the mid-coast?

One more nugget: Capistrano and Coronado changed to ROUNDABOUTs?

Midcoast Community Council (MCC) is an elected Municipal Advisory Council to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, representing Montara, Moss Beach, El Granada, Princeton, and Miramar.

Regular MCC meetings are on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM at Granada Community Services District (GCSD) meeting room, 504 Ave Alhambra, third floor, El Granada. 
All MCC meetings are open to the public, and are agendized and posted according to the requirements of the Brown Act.
