On November 3, 2026, the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) will hold a General Election for the following Board of Directors seats: Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 5, and Ward 6.

The nomination period for the November 3, 2026 General Election begins July 13, 2026, and closes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026. If an incumbent does not qualify by 5:00 p.m. on August 7, 2026, the nomination period is extended by five (5) days to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, for non-incumbents only.

During the nomination period, the list below will be updated with candidates who pull papers to run for office and will be updated when candidates file their nomination papers. After nomination papers have been received and verified, the list will be updated with candidates who qualify for the November 3 election. The list will also reflect candidates who choose to withdraw their declaration of candidacy. The deadline to withdraw is Friday, August 7 at 5:00 p.m. if the filing period is not extended.

California Elections Code section 10515 requires that when the number of candidates who file for an office is less than or equal to the number of offices to be filled, the qualified candidates will be appointed in lieu of election.

As Midpen’s District Clerk, I am available to you as a resource, and I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions. To make an appointment to receive and file your nomination papers please contact me at (650) 691-1200 or at msoria@openspace.org. I look forward to working with you throughout the election process.

Sincerely, Maria Soria, MMC, District Clerk
