Reservations for summer group and youth camping open June 21


REDWOOD CITY – 
More San Mateo County Parks services and programs are now available, from special event reservations and group camping, to in-person events.

“The County of San Mateo proudly operates two dozen parks that offer something for everyone,” said Parks Director Nicholas Calderon. “From San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean, your local County Parks offer wild spaces, playgrounds, special programs and more. After a very tough year, we encourage everyone to get outside and get a breath of fresh air in your county parks.”

Parks staff members are available by phone and by email, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and appointments for in-person service can be made  https://parks.smcgov.org/contact-us.

The department’s main office in County Center in Redwood City remains closed to in-person assistance.

Most services, including making reservations, purchasing park passes, and news about parks and trails can be found at SMCoParks.org.

Camping reservations, which were generally unavailable due to COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, are now available for group and youth camping.

 

Group Camping:

Reservations will be accepted for group camping at Wurr Flat beginning midnight June 21, on-line https://parks.smcgov.org/make-reservation:

► Camping begins July 1 at Wurr Flatt #2
► Camping begins July 29 at Wurr Flat #1

 

Youth Group Camping:

Reservations for the following youth group campsites will be accepted at 650-363-4021, beginning June 21:

► Camping begins July 1 at San Pedro Valley and San Bruno Mountain.
► Camping begins July 29 at Homestead, site 6 at Memorial Park

Reservations for youth day camp areas will be accepted at 650-363-4021, beginning June 21:

►  Day camping begins July 1 at Huddart Park and Junipero Serra Park (Oak Cove only).

► Guided Fire Ecology Hike at Pescadero Creek Park – Reservation required

► Snapshot CAL Coast BioBlitz at Tunitas Creek Beach – Reservation required

 

Parks Updates, Picnic Reservations and More:

► All restrooms and drop-in picnic areas are open (except in construction zones).
► Two-way hiking resumes on all trails.
► Reservations for picnic sites can be made now.
► Reservations for special events can be made now in accordance with department guidelines.
► Reservations for jump/bounce houses can be made now in accordance with department guidelines.
