Comparing the Cost of Montara Water/Sewer with GCSD.
At 41:04 Clemens take public comment question on comparing the cost of Montara water/sewer with GCSD.
Geography
Montara is hilly and water and sewers movement requires pumps (13 lift stations/ and 23 grinder stations) and a multitude of grinder pumps.
Rags and wipes get into the pumps and they are expensive to fix.
Last month a pump cost $80k to fix.
GCSD has only 3 lift stations
Half Moon Bay has 1 lift station.
Rates
The districts are also funded differently.
GCSD income includes property taxes, and commercial income from the harbor.
MSWD income is rates, no property taxes and very little commercial.
