Federal Broadband Funding for California and 16^th Congressional District Communities

PALO ALTO, CA — U.S. Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-16) will hold a press conference with Alan Davidson, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information and Administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), to discuss the $1.8 billion in federal broadband funding awarded to California.

In the 21^st century high-speed internet is essential to learn, work, access crucial services, and connect with loved ones. However, in the 16^th Congressional District, home to Silicon Valley, there are communities that lack basic access to high-quality broadband internet service. This new federal funding will ensure that every area across our country will have access to high-speed, reliable, and affordable internet service.
