Federal Broadband Funding for California and 16th Congressional District Communities

Monday, 24 July, 2023 at 10:30 a.m at the Cabrillo Unified School District Office Governing Boardroom.

PALO ALTO, CA — U.S. Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-16) will hold a press conference with Alan Davidson, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information and Administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), to discuss the $1.8 billion in federal broadband funding awarded to California.

In the 21st century high-speed internet is essential to learn, work, access crucial services, and connect with loved ones. However, in the 16th Congressional District, home to Silicon Valley, there are communities that lack basic access to high-quality broadband internet service. This new federal funding will ensure that every area across our country will have access to high-speed, reliable, and affordable internet service.
