In December 2023, San Mateo County purchased the undeveloped property at the corner of Stage Road and Pescadero Creek Road to create a community-oriented public space for residents and visitors. The purchase of this land was the result of several years of collaborative community and town planning efforts that envisioned an accessible, functional, and welcoming focal point for activity in downtown Pescadero. Now that the land has been secured, the process to design this community space can begin!

Community input is essential to designing a vibrant and flexible space that best serves the people of Pescadero and the surrounding area. By taking this survey, you can let us know what’s important to you and what you would like to see at the new Pescadero Community Space!
The Pescadero Community Space is being imagined as a public amenity that welcomes everyone to connect and appreciate the unique charm of downtown Pescadero. The design of the community space will be based on the following assumptions: The site will feature outdoor amenities only—no indoor community spaces or buildings. The site will include trash and recycling receptacles, planted areas, and a restroom. An enhanced parking lot will contain at minimum the same number of parking spaces that are currently in place. All other design elements will be based on feedback received during the community engagement process.
