Background

Built in the 1960s, the Pillar Point Harbor Retail Center has been serving the Harbor for over half of a century and loved by the community. However, its facilities, including the building’s electrical system, plumbing/stormwater systems as well as the heating and cooling systems are aging and require upgrade. The Redevelopment project will also be an opportunity to reassess the building’s risks in the face of climate change and sea-level rise, and to open up new possibilities to connect the Harbor’s users to the waterfront.

The Pillar Point Harbor Retail Redevelopment cannot be completed without the participation of residents, patrons, and other stakeholders from throughout the community. Your input and ideas are important, and the Harbor District needs to hear what you have to say.

The Community Workshop is an opportunity for the whole community to get involved. The purpose of the workshop is to allow stakeholders to tell us what they think, before plans and recommendations are crafted.

The workshop will:

(a) review the purpose of the Retail Redevelopment project, the planning process, and the schedule for the project; and

(b) complete an interactive exercise to hear residents issues, opportunities, and vision for the future of Pillar Point Harbor.

Get Involved

The San Mateo County Harbor District is hosting a Community Visioning Workshop to introduce the planning process and gain insight about concerns that must be addressed by the Redevelopment plan.

The Community Workshop is a key component in developing the Plan and everyone is encouraged to attend.

We hope to see you there!
