San Mateo Harbor District’s Coastal Development Permit Lease Requirements for Pillar Point RV Park Improve Scenic Corridor by Cutting Down Trees

OPERATION REPORT. From the San Mateo County Harbor District’s General Manager’s Operation Report from the meeting on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024 at 10:00am as a hybrid meeting. Public comment only in person or by email. Meetings are currently being  held in person at the SMCHD Administration Building, 504 Avenue Alhambra, Ste. 200, El Granada.

As required by the 2024 Lease between the Harbor District and Pillar Point RV Park, please find attached an update from the Lessee outlining their progress towards satisfying the requirements of the joint Coastal Development Permit. In addition, on September 3rd, 2024, Mr. Keet Nerhan and the General
Manager met on site to review the remodel plans for the RV Park Restroom. Exterior of building will be painted and trimmed out to mirror the existing restroom project recently completed by the Harbor District at Surfers Beach.

The following items have already been completed:

  • 40 mature trees have been removed on the east side of the property line, adjacent to Hwy 1
  • The fence has been repaired on the east side of the property line, adjacent to Hwy 1
  • Cracked, broken, and uneven patches of asphalt have been repaired and resurfaced
  • All new lease-compliant lights have been installed around the RV park
  • Three extra pedestals have been removed, according to the approved plan
  • The landscaping around the park has been completed (including on the west side adjacent to the trail)
  • The trees are/will continue to be trimmed along the shared fence with the Beach House, in compliance with the approved plan

The following items are currently in progress:

  • The storm water treatment / drainage is currently in process and will be completed in a timely manner
  • The ADA compliant restroom requirement is currently in process and will be completed in a timely manner
  • All of the electrical panels in the park are set to be updated as needed
