Type of Crime: PC 664/187-Attempted Murder PC 246-Shooting into an occupied vehicle
Suspect Arrested: Orlando MontelongoChavarin, 18-year-old male from Unincorporated San Mateo County Coast.
On Saturday, January 20, 2024, at approximately 7:09PM, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to report of a shooting near Tea Rd. and Pear Orchard Way, in the Moonridge Housing Community, located on the Unincorporated San Mateo County Coast, just south of Half Moon Bay.
Upon arrival, a male victim was located having sustained gunshot wounds and he was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigation has led Detectives to believe this was an isolated incident.
Working through the night, Detectives were able to identify Orlando Montelongochavarin as a suspect in this case.
On January 21, 2024, a warrant was issued for Montelongochavarin’s arrest. Montelongochavarin was located a short time after the issuance of the warrant and taken into custody without incident.
