San Mateo County Harbor District Moves Meeting Time to 10:00am While Public Would Prefer an Evening Time

Background:

On March 23, 2023 the San Mateo County LAFCo issued a Call for Nominations to fill the Special District Regular Member seat on the LAFCo Board. On April 19, 2023 the Harbor District approved a motion to recommend Commissioner Chang Kiraly for the open seat. On June 30, 2023, the San Mateo County LAFCo Executive Officer notified the District that Commissioner Chang Kiraly was appointed to serve on the LAFCo Board as a Regular Special District Member.

 

The San Mateo County LAFCo holds their board meetings on the third Wednesday of every odd month at 2:30 pm. The San Mateo County Harbor District holds its regular meeting each third Wednesday of each month. If the Harbor District does not change date or time of its regular meeting, Commissioner Change Kiraly may not be able to attend the District’s Board meeting each odd month of the year.

Options

1. Maintain the status quo.

2. Move the meeting time to 10:00 AM each third Wednesday of the month.

3. Move the meeting to another day and time.

4. Move the meeting on the third day of every odd month to 10:00 AM,

5. Move the Meeting to 6:00 PM on each third Wednesday of the month, <<<< EVENING OPTION

6. As directed by the Board.

A draft Resolution is provided in the event the Board decides to change the time of the regular board meetings of the San Mateo County Harbor District.
