COVID STUDY OUTREACH.
Stanford Study on Covid in Bay Area. Free in-home self-test Coronavirus kit.
CATCH stands for the Community Alliance to Test Coronavirus at Home (CATCH). The CATCH Study is a Stanford Medicine research study aimed at estimating the true population prevalence of the coronavirus causing COVID-19 in our communities. We aim to do this reaching the broadest community population possible providing simple and gentle self-collection and return of your sample for laboratory testing, all from the safety and comfort of your home.
Anyone in the greater San Francisco Bay Area may be eligible to participate in the CATCH Study, including those experiencing symptoms or not, and children who are 5 years and older. For children between the ages 5 and 17, we require a parent or a legal guardian to complete the sign-up and permissions process on their behalf. (Note: The CATCH Study website is accepting only adults, but the opportunity to sign-up children will be added soon).
We’re asking people in our community to sign up for the CATCH Study to help protect our community. Our research is designed to understand where and how the virus is spreading—whether people show symptoms or not—and which communities are most affected. These insights will help our scientists and our local public officials understand the outbreak more completely and, along with other data sources, inform public health decisions. We believe this can also help lead the way forward for the rest of the country.
