HMB Redistricting Process: What is the District Model? The Mayoral Process?
Thu August 19 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
PRESS RELEASE from City of Half Moon Bay.
Curious how to get involved in this year’s Redistricting process? Have thoughts on the City’s mayoral process? Join us this Thursday evening for a special public workshop dedicated to Half Moon Bay’s district model.
The current model includes four districts and an at-large elected mayor with a four-year term. The City Council is looking for input from the community and the Redistricting Advisory Committee on whether the current model should be retained or if another model should be used. Other options include five districts with an annually-rotated mayor, or four districts with an at-large elected mayor with a two-year term (versus four).
The more input from the community we have, the more information the City Council has to determine the best map that most accurately reflects the Half Moon Bay community and its residents. If you’re unable to join us Thursday evening but would like to offer input, please email your thoughts to [email protected]. If you’re able to join us, here’s how to participate:
