Marriage Prep 101 is led by Michelle Joy, MFT and Dan Joy, a married couple who believe that learning the building blocks for a successful relationship is really important and possible. Michelle and Dan draw from the latest research that shows how to create successful, close and loving relationships.

Marriage Prep 101 is a 10 hour Weekend Workshop for Engaged, Newlywed and Seriously Dating Couples that helps couples improve their communication, conflict management and intimacy enhancement skills to create successful, enduring relationships.

Michelle Joy, MFT is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been working with Relationship Experts, Dr Ellyn Bader and Dr Peter Pearson at The Couples Institute in Menlo Park for 15 years. Michelle Joy, MFT leads Communication Workshops for Couples, sees individuals and couples in her private practice and trains therapists locally and nationally. Michelle observes the skills that long term couples often lack, and helps implement them to repair their marriage.  She brings this knowledge and expertise to Marriage Prep 101 Workshops.

Dan Joy holds advanced education in Communication Studies, Mediation, Conflict Resolution and works as a Realtor. Dan is passionate about health, fitness, family and relationships. From personal experience, Dan believes that learning relationship skills is one of the most important decisions you can make early on in your relationship. Dan and Michelle are excited to lead Marriage Prep 101 together.
