ARTICLE/ PHOTOS. Northwest Miramar residents enjoyed a beautiful neighborhood party right in front of the ocean on National Night Out. They came by foot, they came by bike. It really wasn’t much of a hike!
The owner of the Douglas Beach House graciously allowed us to hold the event in front of the Ebb Tide Café and the weather cooperated as well. Early in the evening, we had the honor of welcoming a few firefighters from the Cal Fire Department, who posed for photos and gave us several safety tips. We appreciated their presence!
Throughout the evening, more and more neighbors showed up bringing homemade food such as smoked salmon appetizers, chilled shrimp, chili rellenos, hot corn dip, pumpkin bread, lasagna, pizza, cookies, lemon bars, brownies, and a host of other yummy edibles. We rounded it off with some good wines, beer, and flavored waters.
Thanks to San Mateo County for supporting National Night Out. An extra thanks to Mother Nature for holding steady and letting us enjoy the powerful force of the ocean on this beautiful beachfront. Grateful for all.
Thanks to Miramar residents, Kent Taylor, Celina Lopez, and Joe Roark for organizing this year’s event.
