Mark Melville is Running for Sheriff 2018
Mark Melville has been a police chief, city manager and city council member, and he went to the Fire Academy. Quite the resume. Listen as he explains his career path and the value he feels he can contribute to San Mateo County.
He is currently serving as our Deputy Sheriff for San Mateo County. He worked as a police officer in Half Moon Bay in 1978.
“I am seeking your vote for Sheriff in June of 2018.
I have committed more than 36 years to protecting and serving the public and, like you, can see that change is needed.
Law enforcement must be transparent and work with the community, to ensure that public safety is not a commodity available only to certain groups of people.
As your Sheriff, I give you my pledge to implement the values of integrity, accountability, and honesty.
It is imperative to examine where we’ve been. We can then enact bold new strategies for progressive policing. This will lead us to a more stable future.
If elected, I will provide leadership skills with confidence, flexibility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. I am on YOUR side. I will lead by example. I will foster an atmosphere of trust and an open door to best enable all who serve alongside me.
It a privilege to serve you and to be part of what makes our community strong.”
