Two Pescadero Municipal Advisory Councilmembers cause 2024 election ballot confusion at the last San Mateo County Board of Supervisors meeting.
Curious About Running for Office? REGISTER for the San Mateo County Elections Division’s 2024 Candidate Filing Seminars. Stay tuned for a big 2024 Coastside Election Run for Office later today for a special Buzz Mail. There are 10 jurisdictions with 27 seats open! Many of these seat are paid with a small stipend.
San Mateo County passes on developing the old Bay City Flowers 50-Acre property for Half Moon Bay farmworker affordable housing and ag distribution hub. I am sure the City of Half Moon Bay will continue to investigate possibilities.
San Mateo County Planning approves Montara Mountain American Tower AT&T and Sprint use permits but continues the grading permit for further analysis of biological resources, alternative routes and CAL FIRE access needs. The Midcoast Community Council will stay on top of this issue. This is an important communication hub, but the road needs some longterm engineering for stormwater run off. Thats where CARLA is.
San Mateo County Coastside officials launched a Summer Beach Public Safety Campaign ~ “Be Smart. Play Safe. Stay Aware and Never Turn Your Back on the Ocean”. Many have died at our beaches, stay safe.
Want to work on the Coastside? Well, there is a Coastal Dream job for the HEAL Project Executive Director for $115k per year. They are looking for an experienced leader and fundraiser with passion for kids education, gardening and conservation. HEAL = Health, Environment and Agricultural Literacy.
San Mateo County Extends their Permit Exemption for Fire Risk Hazardous Tree Removal in the Unincorporated County. The extension goes to July 1st, 2025.
After much public comment and push back GCSD extends their Public Comment Period for the Granada Community Park and Recreation Center Project’s Initial Study/Mitigated Neg Dec, which is part of the CEQA process, for another 30 Days until July 19th and they Promise to do a Presentation at the next Midcoast Community Council which is July 10th.
