There is now a Memorandum of Understanding between the Coastside Fire Protection District and the San Mateo County Harbor District concerning emergency maritime Search and Rescue response. This is a huge step in acknowledging the Harbor District can not do this by themselves. The San Mateo County Sheriffs and the US Coast Guard are also partners. MOUs will help to define funding for 24/7/365 search and rescue operations.

Senator Padilla and Congresswoman Eshoo introduced legislation this week to expand the GGNRA also known as the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The GGNRA is managed by the National Parks Service. They hope to acquire the 900 acre Scarper Ridge property which is next to Rancho Corral De Tierra. Scarpers was bought by POST or Peninsula Open Space Trust. They buy and then the GGNRA will manage the land.

The Tommy Tsunami Surf School rides a wave of success by getting an SBA 504 Loan to buy property to store their surf gear. Tommy knows that property makes every business more valuable. And his parents are eager to get their garage back.

Puente is looking for sponsors for their October fundraising dinner for their new affordable housing preservation project. They want to improve their newly acquired Pescadero Farmworker housing property with a better communal kitchen and a roof.
